A sunny day at last!! 83 golfers teed it up at this year’s Cochran Mid-Am Championship at Fox Run Golf Club. While conditions were a bit on the soggy side the course played long and fair for everyone. This year’s champion is Jason Landry, from Greenbriar Hills CC, posting an excellent 3 Under Par 69 to capture Medalist Honors.
Chad Niezing (Fox Run GC) was a stroke behind, shooting a 2 Under Par 70 for Runner Up honors. A new member at Fox Run, Warren Crow, playing in his first STLDGA event, carded a 1 Under Par 71 for third place, while Skip Berkmeyer (Legends) won a scorecard playoff over Ryan Schuenke (Quincy CC) to capture fourth place, while Chris Kovach (Old Hickory GC) and Brian Lovett (Bellerive CC) also carded 73s. All these players are now qualified for the Jackson Invitational in October at Greenbriar. In the Net Competition, St. Clair’s Mark Kucharczyk captured first place, carding a Net 70. Second Place honors went to Matt McGrath (Greenbriar) beating Dave Diemer (also
Greenbriar) in a scorecard playoff, carding a pair of 71s. Scott Lamber (Forest Hills CC) beat Brian Shaper (Old Hickory) in a scorecard playoff to capture 4th place. Thanks to all who participated. Special thanks to Dennis Biedenstein, Head Professional at Fox Run and the entire staff at Fox Run for hosting the Cochran. And, as always, many thanks to our volunteers who come out and work the event.
