The 2019 Jack Geiss Two Man Championship brought a cold, blistery day to St. Clair Country Club. Twenty-One District teams teed it up this year, Norwood’s Sam Migdal and Lou Brock, Jr. posted an early 4 Under 68 which held up until Old Hickory’s team of Chris Kovach and Ryan Keller birdied 18 to post a matching 68 as well. In the final pairing of the day, Ross Millman and Bob Gast, St. Louis Country Club, stood in the 18th fairway, also at 4 Under 68. Millman was just short of the green in two, and chipped to about 6 feet. In dramatic fashion after everyone else putted, Millman knocked in his 6 foot birdie putt to shoot 67 and win this year’s championship. The Millman/Gast team added even more excitement to the day, as they played the front in even par 36, and had 5 birdies on the back to capture the championship. Those three teams, Millman/Gast as champions, and the Migdal/Brock and Kovach/Keller team are the first players to qualify for this year’s Jackson Invitational in October at Greenbriar Hills Country Club. Many thanks to St. Clair’s Tom Sipula, General Manager, JT Tierney, Head Professional, and the entire St. Clair staff for hosting the event, as well. Special thanks to St. Clair’s District Rep, Mark Kucharczyk and our other volunteers for their efforts in making the event a tremendous success.
