This year’s Roy Wilson District Challenge was played at Glen Echo Country Club. The weather
was overcast and rainy, cart path only, but the course was still in great shape thanks to
Superintendent Joe Wachter and his staff. Sixteen teams teed it up for this year’s rescheduled
event for some great competition, playing at about 6100 yards, par 71. Note: This event was
originally scheduled in May but was canceled due to weather conditions. Glen Echo stepped in
and agreed to Host this event in September. Thank you Glen Echo. Also Superintendent Joe
Wachter is retiring in December after a long career at Glen Echo. It was a fitting end and an
extra special District Challenge being hosted by Glen Echo.
