Bogey Team wins another Father/Son

By August 8, 20202020, Champions, News

What a great day for golf at Whitmoor’s South Course for the annual Salomon Father/Son
Championship. 50 teams teed it up, with a nice addition of several new teams playing this
year.
David and David Schilp, playing out of Bogey Hills in the 14-17 Yr. Old Flight, shot a
spectacular 3 Under Par 69 to win this year’s championship. Great playing on their part, with
the course playing 6173 Yards from the Blue Tees.

In the 13 & Under Flight, the defending champions, Matt & Mason Lewis from Sunset Hills CC,
were close behind the Shilps, shooting a two Under Par 70 to capture the first place honors in
that flight. Matt & Mason Holmes, also from Sunset Hills, recorded a 77 to finish second, and
Norwood’s Chip and Owen Walther finished third with a 79.
In the 14-17 Yr. Old Flight, Carl Benbrook (Persimmon Woods) and Grandson Mason, shot 74
to capture the honors in their flight. Carl had won the Salomon Championship with his son
Brad in 1987, and now gets to play with his grandson. Cool stuff! Scott and Patrick Holdridge
(Norwood Hills) finished 2nd, carding a 75, and Meadowbrook’s Aaron and Gavin Lang finished
third with 77.
In the 18-23 Yr. Old Flight, Bob and Clayton Cissell, the 2011 Salomon champs from Bogey
Hills, captured the honors, carding a 73, while Persimmon Woods Chris and Ben Blase, shot 74
for second place.
In the 24-34 Yr. Old Flight, Dennis and Steve Osborne (Bogey Hills), carded an even par 72 to
capture the honors, with John and Jonathon Prange, also from Bogey Hills, shooting 79,
beating Kris and Tim Jakel, yet another Sunset Hills team, lost in a scorecard playoff at 79.
In the 35 Yr. Old and Over flight, the 2010 Salomon Champions, Scott and Brandon Hays,
from Bogey Hills carded an even par 72 to capture the honors, while Bogey Hills’ Rusty Shelley
and Kyle Koepke, finished 2nd at 73, defeating the Sunset Hills team of Mark and Brent
Holmes in a scorecard playoff.
Thanks to all who played. And special thanks to the Whitmoor staff for hosting this great
event.
