2026 STLDGA Season Coming Soon

With the 2026 Winter Olympics surely heightening your appetite for competition, the 2026 St. Louis District Golf Association (STLDGA) schedule is ready to fulfill your need to test your skills against the best the District has to offer during the coming months at St. Louis’ legendary courses.

Have you been working out the kinks in your swing at the golf simulator? Or did you join the snowbirds down south to keep your game fresh and your mind sharp?

Either way, we are less than two months away from the 2026 opening tournament eventually leading to the 41st annual Jim Jackson Invitational. Registration opens March 2, so be sure to go to stldga.com to register for events and be aware of specific event registration deadlines.

STLDGA’S Jack Geiss Two-Man Championship at Forest Hills Country Club / April 23

One two-man team represents each STLDGA Member club. The four-ball format also has a Senior Championship. Registration closes April 17.

St. Louis Country Club’s Justin Bryant and Sam Migdal  teamed for an 8-under par 63 to claim the 2025 Geiss Championship at Bellerive Country Club. Bellerive’s Brian Lovett and Andy Frost utilized their home course advantage to repeat as Senior Division champions at 6-under 65.

STLDGA’S Roy Wilson District Challenge at Franklin County Country Club / April 30

The Challenge features a team from each District Club to promote and support the coming STLDGA championship season. Two best balls with 80% of handicaps. The team will consist of the golf professional, golf course superintendent, district representative and a board member from each respective club. Registration closes April 24.

In 2025, the Algonquin Golf Club team captured the Challenge trophy for the third time by shooting a two best ball (net) score of 130, 12 under par. The team consisted of Golf Professional Brett Moomey, District Rep Shawn Jasper, Board Member David Neuner Jr and Superintendent Mitch Null.

STLDGA’S Bob Cochran Mid-Am Championship at Bogey Hills Country Club / May 11

The championship is open to any district member that is at least 25 years old. The Open Division will play 36 holes. The Net Only Division will play 18 holes. The top five finishers in the Open Division and ties qualify for the Jim Jackson Invitational. Registration closes May 5.

Ryan Schuenke (Quincy Country Club) walked away with the Dennis P. Walters Trophy at the 2025 Cochran Mid-Am at Bogey Hills Country Club. Schuenke roared out to an opening round 65 and played steadily throughout the second round as no one could mount a surge through the persistent light rain. At four-under for 36 holes, Schuenke was the only competitor to finish under par.

STLDGA’S Etzkorn Pro-3 Senior Championship at Sunset Hills Country Club / May 20

The championship features a golf professional and three district members who are at least 50 years old in a one-day, two-net best balls stroke-play event. Registration closes May 14.

 

STLDGA’S Pro-3 Junior Championship at Glen Echo Country Club / June 16

The Junior event features a professional and three Juniors in a two best ball competition. It is open to both males and females, and eligible Juniors must not have graduated High School. Registration closes June 10.

In 2025, Sunset Country Club Pro Ryan Johnson and his team sizzled to go 9-under par on their final six holes to claim the Pro-3 Junior Championship at Sunset Country Club. Johnson combined with Tej Litzinger, Luke Butler and Braden Wright to finish a cool 11-under 133 for 18 holes, overcoming the field of 15 teams on one of the hottest days of the season.

STLDGA’S Junior Championship at Lake Forest Country Club / July 9-10

The championship is for junior golfers who must not reach age 19 by July 10, 2026. The 36 hole stroke play competition is for ages 12-18. Juniors 11-years-old and under play in an 18 hole stroke play competition. The Divisions are 12-13, 14-15 and 16-18. Registration closes July 3. The overall champion and runner-up qualify for the Jim Jackson Invitational.

Hudson Shy (Bogey Hills Country Club) claimed a second-consecutive Hardin Junior Championship at Whitmoor Country Club in 2025.

At 11-years-old and under, Bodie Patton (The Legends Country Club) proving to be the steadiest player as he posted back-to-back 2-over par 38s to grab the title after trailing by a stroke after the first round.

At 12-13-years old, Grant Kapilla (Greenbriar Hills Country Club) built a two-stroke lead through 18 with a two-under-par 70 and hung on with a second round 79 to win by a stroke.

At 14-15-years old, Dylan Press (The Legends Country Club) opened play with a 1-under-par 71 and ran away from the field, winning by seven strokes with a two-day total of 147.

STLDGA’S Men’s Championship at The Legends Country Club / July 16-19

The championship is open to all district members with a handicap index of 5.0 or lower. The 132 lowest indexes will make the field. Two days of stroke-play cut to the low 16 qualify for match play. Registration closes July 10. All that qualify for match play will qualify for The Jim Jackson Invitational.

In 2025, Alex Cusumano (Norwood Hills Country Club) put on a dominating display of match play golf by rolling past 2024 Medalist Joe Migdal (Persimmon Woods Golf Club) 7-and-5 for the Griesadieck Men’s Championship at Norwood Hills Country Club. The 2011 champion and 2012 finalist, Cusumano never trailed through four rounds of match play and set a standard for most years between titles at 14.

STLDGA’S Parent/Child Championship at Winghaven Club / Aug. 6

The championship features a two-person team in a modified selective drive/alternate shot format. One player must be a male member of one of the District Clubs. Flights are by age group of youngest player. Pairings of grandparent/grandchild, as  well as “in-laws” are allowed. Registration closes July 31. The event is open to males and females.

St. Peters natives Dan and Sam Emrick (Old Hickory Golf Club) used their home course advantage to post the best score of the day at six-under par 66 to capture the 19-24 year-old flight at the 2025 Parent/Child Championship at Old Hickory.

At 13-and-Under, Pat and Jack Britt (Norwood Hills Country Club) finished one-over par 73 to handle Randy and Hank Graham (Algonquin Golf Club), who were four-over.

At 14-16-years old, John and Austin Larson became the second Old Hickory members to prevail as they were the scorecard playoffs winners over Grant and Palmer Masson (St. Louis Country Club) as both posted one-under 71s.

At 17-18-years old, Rhoads Hall and son Rhoads III (Algonquin Golf Club) carded a three-under 69 to hold off Matt and Mason Holmes (Sunset Hills Country Club) who were even at 72.

STLDGA’S Senior Championship at Persimmon Woods Golf Club / Aug. 18-19

The championship is 36 hole stroke-play gross competitions for any district members at least 50 years old. Super-Senior division is at least 65 years old. The top five and ties of Seniors along with top two and ties of Super-Seniors qualify for the Jim Jackson Invitational. Registration closes Aug. 12.

Skip Berkmeyer (The Legends Country Club) grabbed his second-consecutive Louis Cassett Trophy for the 2025 Senior Championship at Winghaven Country Club. Tim Eaton (Quincy Country Club) was steady with a pair of 73s to capture the Tony Miller Trophy for the Super Seniors tournament.

STLDGA’S Jim Benson Memorial Championship at Quincy Country Club / Sept. 21-22

The two-man championship requires both players to be district members. Round one is a four-ball format, while round two is a foursome format. The championship has both gross only and net only divisions. The Gross division champions and runners-up qualify for the Jim Jackson Invitational. Registration closes Sept. 15.

Winghaven Country Club’s Zach Holland and Adam Tomcich shot 10-under par 134 to run away with the 2025 Benson Memorial 2-man Open Division at Dalhousie Golf Club.

STLDGA’S Jim Jackson Invitational at Algonquin Golf Club / Oct. 10-11

The 41st annual championship is open to district members who  qualified in district events throughout the year, past champions and the club champion from each member club in a 36 hole stroke-play championship. Invitations will be sent in early September.

In an exhilarating display of shot-making in 2025, Algonquin Golf Club’s Shawn Jasper roared back to shade Bubba Chapman (Bellerive Country Club) in a one hole playoff to claim the inaugural James Millard Holtgrieve Trophy at the 40th Jackson Invitational. Jasper became the first Algonquin member to win the Jackson on his home course.
