We were blessed with two spectacular days of golf for this year’s Cassett Senior Championship
at beautiful Bogey Hills Country Club August 19-20. The course was in spectacular condition
and the greens rolling particularly quick for this year’s field of 57 players.
Day One
In the Super Senior Division, perennial winner Bob Trittler (Persimmon Woods), having already
won the Super Senior Championship in 2015, 2017, 2018 and 2019, lapped the field on Day
One, recording a 3 Under 68 to take a 6 shot lead over local favorite Scott Hays (Bogey Hills),
shooting 77 and Ron Miles (Forest Hills) shooting 78, in the Gross Competition. In the Net
Competition on Day 1,Tom Bossard (Bogey Hills) recorded an even par 71, with Dennis Eicholz
(Legends) recording a 73, and Steve Weinstock (Westwood) shooting 74.

In the Senior Division, another perennial and defending champion, Buddy Allen (Dalhousie),
recorded an even par 71 in the Gross Competition, to take a 4 stroke lead over Jim Greenstein
(Meadowbrook) and Dean Fitzpatrick (Greenbriar Hills). In the Net Competition, Mike
Brockmeier (Bogey Hills) recorded a one under 70, followed closely behind by Mike
Quesenberry (Lake Forest), shooting 72 and Gary Hill (Old Hickory) logging a score of 73.
Day Two
In the Super Senior Division, Trittler came back to the field a bit on Day 2, shooting 78, but
captured is fifth Super Senior Championship, recording a two day total of 146. Great playing
Bob! Bogey Hills’ Dennis Osborne, finished second in the Gross Division, shooting 153, with
Ron Miles finishing third at 155. In the Net Competition, Bogey Hills’ Tom Bossard held onto
his lead, finishing a two day Net total of 145. Norwood’s Stan Schroeder recorded a great Net
73 to finish second, with a two day total of 152, edging out Steve Weinstock, who finished
third, at 153.

In the Senior Division, Buddy Allen made it interesting, but still managed to win his third
consecutive Senior title. Allen shot two over 73 in Round 2, for a two day total of 144. Dean
Fitzpatrick and Brain Lovett (Bellerive) made it interesting, both shooting 71 today, with
Fitzpatrick finishing as runner up at 146, and Lovett third at 147. Jim Greenstein finished
fourth at 149.

In the Net Competition in the Senior Division, Mike Quesenberry recorded another two over par
72, to capture the Net Championship, defeating Mike Brockmeier in a scorecard playoff. Didier
Villard was the only player under par gross on Day 2, shooting 70 gross for a Net 68/145 to
finish third, and Dave Diemer (Greenbriar Hills) captured fourth place, defeating Bogey Hills
Norm Eaker in a scorecard playoff.
Thanks to everyone who competed. This was one of the few times we had no withdrawals on
Day 2.
And special thanks to Jeff Nagel, Bogey’s District Rep and Past President of the the STLDGA,
along with our outstanding group of volunteers, for making the Championship a great success.
